This format is repeated exactly the same for the Females. The winner Male and Winner Female will be awarded point towards their Canadian Championship. Points are based on the number of dogs defeated.
Once all the Males and Females have been judged the Special Class is brought into the ring to compete for Best of Breed. The Special Males and Females are dogs that have achieved their Canadian Championship. The Winners Male and Female are again judged with the Specials to determine a Best of Winners. The judge will award a Best of Breed, Best of Opposite and Best of winners.
Again points are awarded for Best of Breed and Best of Winners only based on the number of dogs defeated. It is possible for one dog to take two awards such as Best of Breed and Best of Winners. A Reserve can be awarded based on the number of dogs competing in the Special Class.

Specialties
A Specialty is open to a specific breed – such as Golden Retrievers. There are extra classes associated with a Specialty. Specialties are held by Breed Clubs and depending on your region there may be multiple Specialties per year or none. Typically there is one on a Regional Club and one on the National Level. Regional Clubs are typically provincially based – eg Golden Retriever Club of Alberta.
Classes in a Specialty contain all those found in an All Breed show but may also include other classes such as:
Veterans – Male/Female and then Best of Veteran.
Gun Dog - Male/Female and then Best of Gun Dog
All in all the judge chooses the dogs that best meet the breed standard on that particular day.
